Set in Minnesota's famed Boundary Waters Wilderness Canoe Area, the first two Seth and Travis sagas have been receiving high marks from students, parents and teachers alike. Book three, "Wild Chance - Whitewater Awakening" introduces an attention-grabbing heroine to the mix; a sometimes troubled "city girl", who as the narrative unfolds, comes to more than pull her own weight.

In "Hidden Chance" Jessie and new friend Buddy stumble across a mysterious stash of stolen goods. But after Buddy crashes his ultralight into the lake, Jess recruits Travis. The unlikely duo attempt to unravel the mystery surrounding both the goods and the peculiar little man they suspect is responsible. With several subtle embedded life lessons, the story makes perfect fodder for class discussions.
